About GAUGE SHADE™ 

Every fall I head down to the Florida Keys to do some flats fishing with my friend. Last season we realized that the multi function LCD gauges in his boat were so faded and yellow that we could barely read them. And, when the sun was directly on them they would fog up so bad the water would form droplets inside the glass. That couldn't be good! We decided to replace them with new ones at a cost of $400 A PIECE! Wow! But they looked great and worked. That is until the sun came out and there it was again! A ring of condensation on the inside of the glass. Not as bad as before but nonetheless visible. We complained to the dealer and was told that the fogging was due to the heat buildup in the case and was virtually impossible to eliminate, even with new gauges. We were pretty discouraged! I decided that if we could just shade the face of the gauge it would prevent the heat buildup and keep the fogging down, not to mention extend the life of the gauge itself. And too, the LCD displays had been hard to read when the sun was directly on them. So I went to the local marinas expecting to come back with a product to solve this problem. I came up empty. No one had heard of anything available to mount on the gauge and shade it from the sun. I even did an internet search with no luck. I guess it was up to me to solve this problem. I think I got it right!

While developing GAUGE SHADE™ I focused on a simple plan. I demanded a product that would do its job shading the gauge, last a long time, and be easy to install. I also required that it not only function properly but added to the appearance of the instrument panel. Although initially designed for boat applications I soon realized that GAUGE SHADE™  worked on motorcycles, custom cars, experimental aircraft, anywhere better visibility and protection from the elements are needed. I believe I accomplished what I set out to do. GAUGE SHADE™  not only works great but really gives your instrument panel a cool, custom look!
